Guildford MTB challenge Sat 26th May 2012-05-24
Introduction
This exciting route is full of fast-flowing singletrack and ladled with gentle climbs and descents. Without any major climbs or descents riders should be able to cover the ground relatively quickly; certainly as the ground has dried out so much ? summer is definitely back!
The route
From Parklands we follow Sunday?s road route out towards Wood Street Village where we pick up our first off road leg to Flexford. From here we then have a short road section over the Hog?s Back to Puttenham and pick up the North Downs Way and across to Puttenham common and a feed station where the two routes split. A mix of road, double and single track then make up the long route as we head cross country to Charlshill, Tilford,Farnham Heath to cross the River Wey at Pierpoint Home Farm.
We then head back towards the feed station via Stockbridge Pond, Elstead, Fullbrook Farm and rejoin the short route towards Lower Eashing via some wonderful bridleway singletrack trails. Having turned sharp left at Lower Eashing just over the A3 we head north to Compton and then under the A3 once more to pick up the North Downs Way towards Puttenham and return to the start along our original route out.
Please note that members must show their CTC membership cards when signing on at the event.
